Trees
planted

For every 1 CHF we make in profit, we use a percentage to re-plant trees.

A person in Switzerland causes approx. 9,600 kg of CO2 per year through his or her consumption, diet, travel and energy consumption.

A tree can convert approx. 22kg CO2* into wood and oxygen per year through photosynthesis and its growth.

If each person plants only approx. 440 trees, their total annual CO2 emissions are neutralised by trees. Year after year!

Starting small

I started out making small wooden and metal items with hand tools on a workbench, that was essentially a reclaimed office sideboard. My biggest wooden accomplishment was a set of wearable wooden glasses with prescription lenses. The biggest metal project was a pair of metal wedding bands for my wife and myself.
Big success story :-)

First workshop

New place, new workshop, new tools. Our new home was great, but was lacking furniture, that was to our liking. During our search, we didn't manage to find rustic, unique "chalet-style" furniture, that we liked. It was either fake massif, travelled for thousands of kilometers to get here, contained unpronouncable chemicals or just wasn't the right size.

First CNC

As the projects, its difficulty level and size grew, the first CNC machine was in order. Either for making templates, 3D modeling projects in advance for better material calculation, or for details on furniture, that would simply be impossible to realize by hand.

New website,
workshop, products
& goals

This website has a shop, which is new. The shop will be populated bit by bit. Soon, we will move to our new workshop. The new space,  will also allow to have a showroom and shop. The next goal will be a sawdust -pellet press, which will allow for the workshop to be heated with production byproducts. Rusic style, design and sustainability is what we want people to think about Schuster Design.

Their enthusiasm for the project was infectious, and it was clear that they were invested in creating a beautiful and functional piece of chalet style furniture that would be a centerpiece of our home.
